Reading: Workshops, Responses, Assessments & More


The standard area of "Reading" is one of three standards areas in our local benchmarks and corresponds with our state and national standards. This standard is also reflected in our course competencies.


Responses 

Reader's responses provide you with a method to:

  • actively engage with & reflect upon the reading
  • keep a record of your evolving process of text analysis 
  • develop & demonstrate critical thinking skills 
  • develop & demonstrate an independent literary analysis of a text

Reading Workshops

Reading workshop time offers you the opportunity to engage in a variety of literacy activities.  Your work in the context of a reading workshop will be assessed with the following "Self-Directed Learner" school-wide rubric.
